BELMONT, Mass. (AP) - A commuter train has derailed just outside of Boston but there were no reports of injuries.

The company that runs the commuter rail system for the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority says the inbound train experienced an “upright derailment” at about 8 a.m. Tuesday just outside the Waverly Station at the Belmont/Waltham line.

Television video showed one train wheel off the track. The MBTA only said the train experienced a “mechanical issue.”

There were about 800 passengers on board and they were transferred to another train.

Delays of up to 40 minutes were reported on the MBTA’s Fitchburg commuter rail line.
