SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) - An Attorney has requested a psychiatric evaluation for a man accused of shooting two people, including his estranged wife, inside a Spokane home.

The Spokesman-Review reports Donavan Gibson appeared Monday in Spokane County District Court after police say he barged into the home Nov. 20 and shot Sasha Ross Gibson and Devan Bouge.

Donavan Gibson turned himself in on Wednesday.

Charging documents say Ross Gibson and Bouge were each shot twice in the back of the head. Ross Gibson survived, but Bouge died.

A prosecutor argued to keep Gibson’s bonds set at $1 million - $500,000 each for charges of first-degree murder and first-degree attempted murder.

Gibson’s attorney, Robert Sargent, argued to reduce the bond amount, citing Gibson’s lack of criminal record. He also requested Gibson undergo a psychiatric evaluation.

Judge Eric Dooyema ruled to maintain Gibson’s $1 million bond.
