TULSA, Okla. (AP) - DaQuan Jeffries drilled four from deep to score 24 points as Tulsa took control in the second half to beat Texas-Arlington 72-58 on Tuesday night.
Jeffries was 10 of 11 from the floor for Tulsa (5-2) which returned to winning form after losing two straight. The Golden Hurricane started the season 4-0.
Elijah Joiner added 11 points with four steals and Lawson Korita and Martins Igbanu chipped in 10 apiece. Korita also grabbed five rebounds, had two assists and two steals.
The teams were tied 31-31 at the break. A Korita layup gave Tulsa the lead to start the second half but the Golden Hurricane could not pull away until past the midpoint of the period. Jeriah Horne got the run started with a 3-pointer, Jeffries followed with a layup and the two repeated the sequence as Tulsa ran off 14 unanswered points to lead 64-46 with 5:16 remaining.
Brian Warren had 15 points and seven assists to lead Texas-Arlington (3-4) which has lost three straight games.
