DENVER (AP) - The wife of an Alabama judge was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in Denver on Thanksgiving night.
KDVR-TV reports the Denver coroner identified the victim as 65-year-old Karen King. Family members and co-workers of the couple say Jefferson County Probate Judge Alan King and the couple’s adult daughter, Kendall King, were seriously injured.
Karen King worked at Rocky Ridge Elementary in Hoover, Alabama, school officials said.
Police in Denver are searching for a dark-colored sedan, possibly a Cadillac, with damage to its front end and windshield. Witnesses say the car ran a red light and struck the family at about 8:15 p.m. Thursday.
Denver police tell KUSA-TV there have been 14 hit-and-run deaths in the city this year, compared to seven last year and four in 2016.
