MILWAUKEE (AP) - Milwaukee authorities have released body camera video documenting the fatal October police shooting of a man who shot at officers.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports police released the video Saturday showing officers respond to gunshots in a parking lot. The video shows officers ordering 31-year-old Alonzo Smith to show his hands and put them on his car’s steering wheel.

Smith fires at the officers. Police return fire, striking Smith. He later died.

It was the second video of a Milwaukee police shooting released this week. A private investigator working on a civil rights lawsuit provided to the newspaper body camera footage of the non-fatal shooting of Jerry Smith Jr.

Jerry Smith Jr. appears unarmed, and no gun was found. A prosecutor determined police were justified in using deadly force because they thought he was armed or reaching for a gun.
