NORTH, S.C. (AP) - Police in Orangeburg County are searching for two thieves who crashed a truck through the doors of a store in the early hours of Black Friday.

Media outlets report the crash happened just before 4 a.m. Friday at a Family Dollar in North, about 30 miles (48 kilometers) south of Columbia.

The North Police Department says in a Facebook post that the suspects were trying to use the truck to remove an ATM from the floor of the store. It wasn’t immediately clear if they were successful.

Police say the blue 1987 Chevrolet Silverado used in the robbery attempt was stolen just before the burglary. Authorities ask anyone with information about the suspects or the truck to call Chief Lin Shirer at 803-247-5801.
