Fox News shut down Turning Point USA’s Anna Paulina on Thursday after she compared former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to an incurable virus.

The Thursday interview got off to a rough start, with Ms. Paulina jumping to defending President Trump’s border policies, despite being asked about Mrs. Clinton’s emails.

Rick Leventhal, who was hosting the segment, pivoted to political analyst Doug Schoen, but the Turning Point staffer jumped back in.

“[Mrs. Clinton] won’t go away,” Ms. Paulina said. “She’s like herpes.”

“Okay, that is news that we’re breaking here. Not appropriate,” Mr. Leventhal chided.

The segment wrapped up without Ms. Paulina, and Mr. Leventhal apologized for her language.

Arthel Neville, who co-hosted with Mr. Leventhal, issued a second on-air apology directed to Mrs. Clinton.

“We are all Americans, and that is the focus and we want to reiterate that we do not condone the language that Anna Paulina just displayed here, and we apologize to Secretary Clinton for that,” she said.
