LOUSIVILLE, Ky. (AP) - A Kentucky man has filed a federal lawsuit after alleging he was framed for a murder he didn’t commit.

The Courier Journal reports that 56-year-old Nickie Miller of Stanton - who filed the suit Tuesday - says he wrongly spent two years in jail facing a potential death sentence of the murder of 52-year-old Paul Brewer of Mount Sterling.

In 2011, Brewer was found shot in the head twice while strapped to his bed.

The suit names a state police polygraph examiner, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s office and a prosecutor as defendants, alleging they forced a witness to falsely implicate Miller and destroy evidence in the case.

None of the defendants returned requests for comment.

Prosecutors moved to dismiss the charges against Miller last year.
