SPRINGFIELD, Ky. (AP) - A Kentucky man has been arrested after police said he tried to aim one of several weapons he had at an officer.

News outlets report an arrest citation said 37-year-old Matthew Smith of Lebanon was found in his car Monday outside a Springfield factory where police received reports of a suspicious vehicle and trespassing.

The citation said Smith tried to aim a handgun at an officer who approached him, but the officer took the gun and pulled Smith out of the vehicle. Police said Smith was carrying two other handguns and said a rifle and AR-15 modified to be fully automatic were found in the front seat.

Smith was charged with wanton endangerment, resisting arrest, attempted murder and criminal trespassing. He’s being held without bond, with arraignment set for Monday.
