President Trump’s “Game of Thrones” meme angered the ones who really control the Iron Throne — HBO.

The president posted a photo of himself Friday with the caption “Sanctions are coming.”

Both the font and the phrase are a take on Game of Thrones’ iconic slogan, “Winter is coming.”

HBO did not take kindly to the president jumping off their award-winning hit show.

The network told CNBC, “We were not aware of this messaging and would prefer our trademark not be misappropriated for political purposes.”

Maisie Williams, whose character Arya Stark is one of the central characters of the show, also shot down the president’s picture.

While it’s not explicitly clear which sanctions the president is alluding to with the meme, the photo was posted just a few days before renewed sanctions on Iran take effect Monday.
