Alec Baldwin was arrested Friday after a fight over a parking spot in New York City, police said.
NYPD sources told NBC New York that Mr. Baldwin was taken into custody after punching a male individual once in the left side of the face. The unidentified victim complained of pain and was taken to Lenox Hill Hospital, the sources said.
The altercation happened about 2 p.m. outside the actor’s residence on East 10th Street, WABC reported.
Mr. Baldwin was still at NYPD’s 6th Precinct being processed as of mid-afternoon. He is expected to be charged with third-degree assault.
Mr. Baldwin, who won an Emmy last year for his impersonation of President Trump on “Saturday Night Live,” has verbally sparred with the president since the 2016 presidential campaign. Mr. Trump was asked to weigh in on the actor’s arrest Friday afternoon.
“I wish him luck,” the president told reporters.

Mr. Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., slammed the actor on Twitter following news of his arrest.
Is anyone shocked at this piece of garbage anymore? As if the phone calls to his daughter weren’t bad enough. He’s a lib so he gets chance after chance to be decent but always fails!

Mr. Trump Jr. was referring to an incident in 2007 when a leaked voicemail by Mr. Baldwin to his 11-year-old daughter, calling her a “rude, thoughtless little pig,” made national headlines. He was also arrested in 2014 for disorderly conduct.
