TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - The city of Tucson says it is moving on plans to dismantle a homeless camp called Bravo Base.
City officials say ongoing health and safety violations are the reasons the homeless camp near Santa Rita Park should be vacated despite pleas from anti-poverty advocates.
The decision will affect 42 men and women who must leave immediately.
Camp leader Addie Mendonca told KGUN-TV in Tucson, Arizona, she and others were planning a Thanksgiving meal at the camp this week.
The city says they’ve sent homeless advocates and social workers to the camp to help with the transition.
