Baltimore Ravens quarterback Robert Griffin III is active for the first time this season with starter Joe Flacco out with a hip injury Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals.
The former Redskins quarterback will back up Lamar Jackson, a rookie who is making his first career start.
On Thursday, Griffin was the lone quarterback to have practiced for the Ravens as Jackson missed the day with an illness and Flacco was also sidelined.
Griffin has not appeared in a regular season game since Week 17 of the 2016 season.
After spending the entirety of 2017 out of football, Griffin signed with the Ravens this offseason and played well in the preseason. He has served as a mentor to Jackson and has been the team’s third-string quarterback.
