LANDOVER — With Alex Smith done for the afternoon with an ankle injury, Colt McCoy threw a touchdown on his first throw in Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans.
McCoy hit tight end Jordan Reed for the nine-yard score.

Smith was carted off in the third quarter after being sacked by J.J. Watt and Kareem Jackson. The Redskins punted, but soon got the ball back after Deshaun Watson threw an interception inside the 20.
The Redskins trail 20-14.
