MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - Alex Caldwell scored 17 points and Ledarrius Brewer added 16 to lead Southeast Missouri State to a 77-71 victory over Jacksonville on Friday night in the South Alabama tournament.
The game was tied 62-62 with six minutes remaining. Southeast Missouri State pulled away with a 15-4 run and led 77-66 with 39 seconds to go. Brewer scored five points and Caldwell chipped in four during the stretch.
Caldwell and Brewer also made five of the Redhawks’ nine 3-pointers. Skyler Hogan had 14 points and Mark Laros chipped in 11 for Southeast Missouri State (2-2).
Jace Hogan scored 18 points on 9-of-19 shooting to lead Jacksonville. Tyreese Davis had 13 points and JD Notae added 11.
The game was tied eight times and had five lead changes. The Redhawks play Chattanooga and Jacksonville faces South Alabama in Saturday’s games.
