GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) - A stray cat that made a home of a South Carolina fire department and became Instagram famous got himself stuck in a drain pipe beneath the station.

The Greenville News reports Flame, also known as “Arson Cat,” was found late Wednesday in a 12-inch (30-centimeter) storm drain that runs about 50 feet (15 meters) beneath the station’s parking lot.

Lt. Brandon Peskopos says the station’s assistant chief was calling for the missing Flame and heard a sound coming from the drain. Off-duty firefighters went after him and rescued the damp cat. It’s unclear how Flame got into the pipe.

The orange and white cat wandered into the fire station about three years ago and stole the hearts of firefighters. They later started an Instagram for him that’s gained 100,000 followers.
