LENOX, Mass. (AP) - Just as winter strikes a sour note, the Boston Symphony Orchestra is offering a mental escape: the schedule for its 2019 outdoor season at Tanglewood.

The renowned orchestra said Thursday the highlights will include two concerts with James Taylor at its summer venue in the leafy Berkshires of western Massachusetts.

Taylor will appear onstage on July 3 and July 4 - his only performances in the region next summer.

Over two days later in July, BSO music director Andris Nelsons will lead three ambitious performances of Wagner’s “Die Walkuere” (“The Valkyrie.)

Other highlights include a world premiere performance of Kevin Puts’ “The Brightness of Light,” inspired by letters written by of iconic American artist Georgia O’Keeffe and her husband, photographer and curator Alfred Stieglitz.
