DAYTON, Ohio (AP) - Cole Gentry scored a career-best 30 points and Wright State beat Toledo 84-74 on Wednesday night.
Gentry was 9 of 15 from the field and hit all eight of his free throws for the Raiders (2-1). Billy Wampler added 17 points and four rebounds, Loudon Love had 14 points and led with 12 rebounds and Skyelar Potter had 13 points off the bench with 11 rebounds.
The Raiders outrebounded Toledo 48-27.
Wright State began to pull ahead midway through the first half and two consecutive Wampler 3-pointers made it 27-23 with 6:07 to go. Gentry followed with three more from distance before the break and the Raiders led 40-32.
Toledo pulled to 42-37 early in the second half but the Raiders stretched it out again with the help of a Potter 3 and layups by Love and Gentry to push it to 53-39 with 14:42 to play and they cruised from there.
Luke Knapke scored 20 points on six 3-pointers to lead the Rockets (2-1).
