BRANDON, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say a toddler who fell into a backyard swimming pool in Florida has died.
The Tampa Bay Times reports that deputies responded to a Brandon home Sunday afternoon.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office says the 14-month-old boy had apparently wandered into the home’s swimming pool and drowned. The child was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Deputies described the death as an accident. No criminal charges were pending.
