A longtime Hillary Clinton adviser guaranteed Monday that the former secretary of state would make a third bid for president in 2020 on a more progressive platform.
“Get ready for Hillary Clinton 4.0,” said former Clinton pollster Mark Penn in an op-ed for the Wall Street Journal.
Mr. Penn, who coauthored the article with former New York City Council president Andrew Stein, a Democrat, predicted that Mrs. Clinton would run as the “universal-health-care-promoting progressive firebrand of 1994.”
“True to her name, Mrs. Clinton will fight this out until the last dog dies,” they said in the op-ed. “She won’t let a little thing like two stunning defeats stand in the way of her claim to the White House.”

Mrs. Clinton lost the 2016 presidential race to Republican Donald Trump, eight years after she was defeated by then-Sen. Barack Obama in the 2008 Democratic presidential primary.
The op-ed also predicted that other top Democrats would be no match for the 71-year-old Clinton, who has said she will not run for president again.
“She will trounce them,” they said. “Just as Mr. Trump cleared the field, Mrs. Clinton will take down rising Democratic stars like bowling pins. Mike Bloomberg will support her rather than run, and Joe Biden will never be able to take her on.”
