JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - The head of the University of Mississippi Medical Center’s adult hospitals and clinics has been removed from her post.
The Clarion Ledger reported that Liz Youngblood was removed from the chief executive’s position Wednesday.
Hospital spokesman Marc Rolph said he could not talk about Youngblood’s departure. A statement said she would remain on staff to complete some projects already are under way.
The CEO of the larger University of Mississippi Health System, Kevin Cook, will take over the position temporarily. Rolph said the search for a replacement has not started yet.
Youngblood had been in charge of the system’s University Hospital, as well as the critical care hospital, women’s hospital and outpatient clinics in the Jackson area. She had been hired just over two years ago.
