WOODBURY, Vt. (AP) - Police in Vermont are investigating two house fires where two people were found dead as suspicious.
Vermont State Police investigators say human remains were found in adjoining Woodbury homes that were both on fire Tuesday night.
Woodbury firefighters were called to a home on Bliss Road after receiving a report that a house was fully engulfed in flames.
While attempting to extinguish that fire, firefighters notice a second home about 150 feet away also was on fire.
The fire crews discovered human remains in both houses. Police have not released the names of the deceased.
WCAX-TV reports that police have not said whether the people died from the fires or another cause.
Anyone with information about the fires is asked to call the state police in Middlesex.
