The Washington Redskins have decided to part ways with executive Scott Campbell, according to multiple reports.
Campbell was with the organization since 2001, playing a role in Washington’s draft process. From 2006-2016, he was in charge of the team’s college scouting. He held the title of “director of college scouting” on two separate occasions.
The Redskins, per reports, decided to not renew Campbell’s contract, which had expired.
Last summer, the Redskins organized their front office, promoting Doug Williams to senior vice president of player personnel. Campbell became a senior personnel executive, while Kyle Smith was promoted to director of college scouting.
Campbell, according to the Redskins’ website, was “integral” to the team’s 2014 and 2017 drafts.
