President Donald Trump has taken yet another campaign promise and turned it to reality and pulled America from the detestable Iran nuclear deal.

Thank goodness. This Barack Obama-forged piece of madness was — well, nothing but madness. Who cuts deals with Satan and calls it a good thing, a win-win?

As Trump said, upon announcing the termination of the U.S. participation in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, and reinstatement of sanctions against Iran: “The Iran deal was one of the worst and most one-sided transactions the United States has ever entered into,” it was “defective at its core,” and no longer would America “be held hostage to nuclear blackmail.”

It’s that last that’s the coolest. It’s that last that shows, hey, the adults are back in charge.

He went on: “We will not allow American cities to be threatened with destruction, and we will not allow a regime that chants ’Death to America’ to gain access to the most deadly weapons on Earth.”

Once again, Trump has taken the lead on the world stage and said, ’We’re America, and we’re not gonna take it any more.’

We’re America — we don’t bend and kowtow to cowards and terrorists.

Obama, of course, can’t see that light. He called Trump’s move “misguided” and dangerous to the establishment of diplomacy with North Korea. But that’s Obama for you — he never could quite grasp the notion of standing tall on principle, standing strong against bullies and threats. His method of governing was to talk, talk, talk, a strategy that was perceived around the globe — and rightly so — as weakness and willingness to bow. And bow he did.

Because of Obama, Iran was able to continue its deadly and rogue behaviors and pursue nuclear weapons development — with a sizable bankroll of American dollars, no less. We know this because of recently revealed intelligence reports, primarily from Israel.

We also know that when America, under the Trump administration, tried to curb Iran’s known nuclear activities, Tehran in turn threatened Israel and the West. Something else we know?

Trump’s announced departure of America from this terrible deal is nothing surprising.

Way back in March 2016, Trump called Iran the “biggest sponsor of terrorism around the world” and vowed to curb the country’s “terror network” and its “aggressive push to destabilize and dominate the region,” in part, by renegotiating the entire nuclear deal.

So here he is. And that’s what he’s done. A campaign promise fulfilled — and on the Iran deal, and then, as the great mystery author Agatha Christie once penned, and then there were none.

Iran will cry; Democrats, lament; Team Obama, attack and insult and likely, sneak some shadow government strategies into future U.S.-Iran dealings as best they can. But the world’s a bit safer now that Iran’s been put on alert. The world’s a bit safer now that it’s clear America is standing strong, sending messages far and wide that the days of kowtowing and bowing and conceding to enemy states have come to a complete end.
