DETROIT (AP) - A psychiatrist has again found a Detroit man mentally incompetent to go to trial on murder charges in the slaying of a Wayne State University police officer.
The Detroit News reports that 62-year-old Raymond Durham appeared for a competency review before a judge Tuesday via video from a psychiatric facility. 36th District Court Judge Kenneth King set an Aug. 8 hearing for another competency review in Durham’s case.
Durham is accused in the November 2016 shooting death of police officer Collin Rose. Durham previously was found incompetent to stand trial in April 2017 and November. His defense attorney says he will receive treatment until he is deemed competent to go to trial and assist in his defense.
The judge says there appears to be some progression of Durham’s mental state.
