POMEROY, Ohio (AP) - A former jail officer accused of sexually assaulting or trying to sexually assault 11 female inmates and probationers he supervised has been indicted in Ohio on charges including kidnapping, sexual battery and attempted compelling prostitution.

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine says 55-year-old Larry Tucker, of Pomeroy, worked at the Middleport Jail and as a probation officer in Meigs County in far southeastern Ohio. DeWine says the alleged crimes occurred between 2011 and 2017.

DeWine says Tucker was arrested over the weekend in Ashland County. Meigs County court records listed no attorney for him Monday.

The 28 counts against him also include charges of gross sexual imposition, attempted sexual battery, soliciting and theft in office. DeWine didn’t detail the alleged theft but says it was uncovered by the investigation.
