Despite adding quarterback Alex Smith and drafting Da’Ron Payne in the offseason, NFL oddsmakers appear to remain unconvinced about the Washington Redskins for 2018.
The sportsbook, BetDSI, has the Redskins over/under listed at 6.5 wins. Betting the over is -140, meaning if you placed $140 on the Redskins to finish with more than 6.5 wins, you’d win your money back and an additional $100.
Here are some other long-shot odds facing the Redskins
Winning the NFC East: 8/1
These are the worst odds in the division. The sportsbook has the Philadelphia Eagles favored to win the division (+160) with the Dallas Cowboys (+280) and the New York Giants (+500) behind the Super Bowl champions.
Winning the Super Bowl: 65/1
Only five teams — the Miami Dolphins, Cincinnati Bengals, Chicago Bears, New York Jets and Cleveland Browns — have longer odds to win next year’s Super Bowl. At this point last year, the Redskins, with Kirk Cousins, were listed at 50-1.
