CINCINNATI (AP) - A prosecutor in Cincinnati is awaiting more forensic evidence before publicly discussing his investigation into the death of a 16-year-old boy who became trapped in a minivan and twice called 911.
The office of Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters (DEE’-turs) said Monday he won’t comment on the case until next week at the earliest.
Deters has subpoenaed police records about the response to Kyle Plush’s 911 calls.
Plush’s father found his body April 10 in the 2004 Honda Odyssey in a parking lot near his school, nearly six hours after Plush’s first call. A coroner says he asphyxiated from chest compression.
It led to an internal investigation by Cincinnati police. City council officials plan to hear the results May 14.
Officials already have outlined plans for upgrading Cincinnati’s emergency center.
