The Washington Nationals reinstated infielder Anthony Rendon from the 10-day disabled list Saturday.
Rendon, who finished sixth in NL MVP voting a year ago, fouled a pitch off his left big toe on April 13 and left that night’s game against the Colorado Rockies.
In two minor league rehab assignment games with the Single-A Potomac Nationals, Rendon went 5-for-8 with two doubles, an RBI and three runs. He has hit .286 in 14 major league games this year with one home run and four doubles.
To clear room for Rendon, the Nationals optioned infielder Adrian Sanchez to the Triple-A Syracuse Chiefs.
