RANDOLPH, Vt. (AP) - Officials say state assistance is going to help a Vermont business that makes lighting products double its workforce to more than 100 people by finding it a new, 27,600-square-foot facility in the town of Randolph.

Republican Gov. Phil Scott and Democratic Sen. Patrick Leahy announced Wednesday that nearly $1.5 million in state and federal assistance would support the construction of the new home for LEDdynamics.

The nearly $5 million project is financed with a Vermont Economic Development Authority loan and company equity.

LEDdynamics was founded in 2000 in Rochester. It moved to its current facility in 2004.

The new facility is expected to be completed by next spring.
