NBC Sports drew a 12.6 rating in D.C. for Wednesday’s Game 7 between the Washington Capitals and the Tampa Bay Lightning — making it the most-watched hockey game for the network in the market.
The old record was set in 2012 when Game 6 between the Capitals and the Boston Bruins earned an average household rating of 8.63.
Game 7 of the ECF delivered a 12.6 local rating in Washington, D.C., +62% vs. @NBCSN’s 2018 Conference Final avg. between @Capitals and @TBLightning, making it NBC Sports Group’s highest-rated NHL delivery on record in D.C.

The Capitals won 4-0, advancing to the Stanley Cup Final for the first time in 20 years.
