The NFL is mulling changes to its national anthem policy — and teams could be penalized if players kneel.
Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer reported NFL owners discussed an idea that would leave it up to home teams to decide if teams should come out for the anthem — and a 15-yard penalty would be handed out to the offending team if a player kneels.
Per sources, one anthem idea being discussed: Leaving it up to home team on whether teams come out for the anthem; if teams do come out for the anthem, potential that teams could be assessed 15-yard penalties for kneeling.

Owners are conducting meetings in Atlanta, discussing a range of issues. On Tuesday, they approved billionaire David Tepper as the new owner of the Carolina Panthers.
More discussion surrounding the anthem is expected on Wednesday, according to the NFL Network.
NFL owners will not have an agreement on a national anthem policy tonight. But more discussion is planned for tomorrow.
