It is no mystery that most who work inside the Beltway don’t like President Trump. He is an outsider and nationalist, while those on both sides of the aisle in Congress are globalists who listen more to their K Street providers than they do their constituents. The two new world dictators — Xi Jinping of China and Vladimir Putin of Russia — are confirmed nationalists, and while the former praises globalism for the benefits it has gained his country, both men want globalism, but only on their terms, not those of the West.

American globalists don’t understand this. They still believe that the United Nations and global companies will ultimately unite us in a global economy that further benefits the rich. To do this, globalists also feel that no nation should be allowed to become too strong, both politically and economically. That is why Mr. Trump must be stopped.

Thus it was no accident that a disingenuous conservative like Jeff Sessions supported Mr. Trump early on in his presidential bid. He was chosen by the Establishment Senate to worm his way into in the unsuspecting novice’s inner circle and convince his future boss that he should become attorney general. By being in that position, Mr. Sessions could orchestrate a large portion of the Deep State — the FBI and Justice Department — and Congress could impede the new president’s agenda at will.

What better way to keep the workings of government in the hands of the Establishment?

By accepting no letters of resignation, the new attorney general — and the naive president — allowed an extremely biased set of Obama appointees and sycophants to remain in power. That never happens in Washington with a new administration, but it did in this case. Then Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein advised Mr. Trump to fire FBI Director James Comey, only to turn around and appoint a special prosecutor to investigate — among other things — why the president fired the man. The overwhelming purpose of the investigation concerned the president’s suspected collusion with the Russians, a ploy which allowed Mr. Sessions conveniently to recuse himself and let Mr. Rosenstein — and the unsupervised special counsel, Robert Mueller — take control of the Justice Department and FBI, both of which had already been corrupted by an assortment of officials, most of whom incredibly have kept their jobs to this day.

The Senate has effectively done its nefarious job as well. The tax cuts were the one exception, but the globalist K Street lobbyists allowed this to pass because it swelled the coffers of big business. In every other way, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has stalled the Trump agenda. Even the congressional promise to rescind Obamacare failed in the Senate. In fact, the only other significant law to pass was the largest budget in U.S. history, which provided virtually no funds for Mr. Trump’s wall but added greatly to Democrat priorities, like Planned Parenthood and sanctuary cities.

By design, the Senate is trying to preserve as best it can the Obama legacy: Increase the debt, allow open borders, and marginalize the United States, all in keeping with the globalist agenda. And while Mr. McConnell continues to pile up mountains of “dead on arrival” legislative proposals, Mr. Sessions obediently lets his department obstruct the very thing his department is named for: justice. And as planned, Mr. McConnell prays for a blue wave in November so his ineptness as the majority leader will no longer be on public display.

Meanwhile, the president is stuck in the middle. If he fires the attorney general, he will be severely criticized and provide grist for his own impeachment. Now he’s petitioning Mr. McConnell to help fund his beloved wall, which the senator smugly knows will never be approved. And to ensure the blue wave, lame-duck House Speaker Paul Ryan has announced he will keep his position until next January, ensuring that nothing disturbs either the Mueller probe or immigration reform.

With the help of Mr. Ryan, the Senate cabal is close to accomplishing their mission. And a mission it truly has been: to paralyze the sitting president until the predictable congressional flip in the midterm elections.

But wouldn’t it be grand if Trump-supporting candidates actually won in the fall.
