Capitals Game 6 vs. Lightning: How to watch and what to watch for

For the first time in the 2018 Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Washington Capitals face the possibility of elimination.

After their third straight loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday night, the Capitals can only advance to the Finals by winning Game 6 at home and a Game 7 in Florida. But a loss Monday puts an end to the season, and to a postseason in which the Capitals advanced the furthest in 20 years, only to fall just short of the championship round.

What to watch for: Andre Burakovsky was a healthy scratch in Game 5, but likely will return to the Capitals’ lineup for Game 6. He skated with the third line at morning skate, while Alex Chiasson was the odd man out of the top 12 forwards, but Barry Trotz said after practice that “what you saw today probably won’t stay that way” … The Lightning have scored on one of their first three shots on goal in three of the last four games. In Game 5, Steven Stamkos scored on the first shot attempt of the game.
