KENNEBUNKPORT, Maine (AP) - The former owner of a Maine magazine who was accused of sexual misconduct has apologized for “lines that were crossed.”
The Portland Press Herald reports Kevin Thomas said in a statement Tuesday he regretted his actions and would take responsibility for his conduct.
A former designer for Maine Media Collective, parent of Maine Magazine, said Thomas kissed her without permission in 2010, then bullied her for months.
CEO and publisher of Maine Media Collective Andrea King said Monday that Thomas has ended his involvement with the company “effective immediately.” King says the company is looking to transfer ownership from Thomas as quickly as possible.
Maine Magazine canceled this year’s Kennebunkport Festival in the wake of the allegations.
