If you happened to be at Dulles International Airport waiting for a delayed flight Thursday morning, you may have seen the Bronx Bombers in the same predicament.

The New York Yankees couldn’t get in their two-game series against the Washington Nationals this week due to constant rain, and to make matters worse for them, their flight from the D.C. area to Kansas City was delayed more than 12 hours due to weather.

Yankees general manager Brian Cashman told Newsday Thursday that the team stayed in Dulles overnight because their late-night flight was delayed and hotels in the area were at or near capacity.

So the likes of Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton and Gary Sanchez slept on the plane or in the terminal alongside regular folks.

“It really was a perfect storm,” Cashman joked.

The Nationals and Yankees will make up their rainouts on June 18. Like the Nationals, the Yankees had a scheduled day off Thursday ahead of a weekend series at the Royals.
