SEOUL, South Korea (AP) - Tianjin Quanjian advanced to the quarterfinals of the Asian Champions League by beating Chinese league rival Guangzhou Evergrande on away goals following a 2-2 draw Tuesday in the second leg.
Wang Jie scored the deciding goal in the second half and former AC Milan striker Alexandre Pato added the other. Ricardo Goulart scored both for the home team.
Tianjin held Guangzhou to a 0-0 draw in the first leg.
Guangzhou, the champion in 2013 and 2015, is coached by 2006 World Cup-winning captain Fabio Cannavaro.
Also, two-time champion Jeonbuk Motors overcame a 3-2 deficit against Thai club Buriram United to win 4-3 on aggregate following a 2-0 victory in the second leg.
Ricardo Lopes and Lee Jae-sung scored a goal each for the South Korean club.
