BUXTON, Maine (AP) - Police say a Maine man armed with a gun threatened his mother on Mother’s Day.
The Portland Press Herald reports police responded around 8 p.m. Sunday when the woman reported she had fled a Buxton home after 26-year-old Adam Sanborn threatened her.
Police set up a perimeter around the home after Sanborn refused to speak with officers.
Sanborn eventually left the home, and police apprehended him before he got into a car parked in the driveway. Police say he threw a loaded handgun under the car as he was being arrested.
His mother was not harmed.
Sanborn has been charged with domestic violence criminal threatening with a firearm and domestic violence assault.
He was being held Monday morning at the York County Jail; it’s unclear if he has a lawyer.
