WALTHAM, Mass. (AP) - Brandeis University is expecting nearly 8,000 visitors at its spring graduation ceremony.
Graduating students and their families will be gathering on campus Sunday morning for the 67th commencement at the Boston-area school.
The keynote speaker will be Freeman A. Hrabowski III, president of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
Hrabowski is an education researcher who is credited with turning his Baltimore school into a top public university in math and science.
Others receiving honorary degrees include Israeli musician Chava Alberstein and Mary Sue Coleman, president of the Association of American Universities.
The commencement and diploma ceremonies will be streamed online on the school’s website .
Brandeis is a private university of about 5,700 students west of Boston.
