SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) - A former Washington deputy prosecutor is accusing a Stevens County prosecutor of workplace sexual harassment.

The Spokesman-Review reports Saundra Richartz says in a tort claim filed May 1 in Spokane Superior Court that during her time in the office, Stevens County Prosecutor Tim Rasmussen gave male employees preferential treatment, held female employees to a different dress code and frequently commented on their physical appearance in derogatory terms, including on their weight and physical characteristics.

Richartz is seeking $750,000 on several allegations of harassment.

The lawsuit says Rasmussen fired Richartz in July 2015 after she opened a distillery in Colville with friends.

Rasmussen says in a written statement that several factors went into his decision to terminate Richartz including her frequent tardiness.
