ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - Albany Law School will display a hand-signed letter from Alexander Hamilton giving legal advice to a client.
The school says it will exhibit rare documents related to the Founding Father for a week starting on Monday. The exhibit will help celebrate Hamilton’s honorary degree from Albany Law School, which will be bestowed on May 18.
The 1784 letter from Hamilton was written when Hamilton was involved in organizing the Bank of New York. The letter and several other documents related to Hamilton being displayed in Albany are now part of the collection of the bank’s successor, BNY Mellon.
