MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) - West Virginia forward Esa Ahmad has withdrawn his name from the NBA draft and will return for his senior season.

West Virginia announced Ahmad’s intentions Tuesday.

Ahmad did not hire an agent when he announced his plans to enter the draft in early April.

Coach Bob Huggins says Ahmad was able to gain valuable feedback during the draft process.

Ahmad missed the first two months of the season due to an NCAA academic suspension. He averaged 10.2 points and 5.5 rebounds in 21 games.
