BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Louisiana authorities say three men and a woman have been arrested in the deaths of a cow and three calves that apparently were run over by a truck.

Agriculture and Forestry Commissioner Mike Strain says in a news release that people offered information after his office put out word about the case.

He says St. Landry Parish authorities jailed all four Friday in lieu of $35,000 bond each.

They’re identified as 20-year-old Jameson LaGrange of Leonville and three Port Barre (“Barry”) residents: 21-year-old Jacob Hebert, 18-year-old Christian Meche, and 21-year-old Kaitlin Gauthier (GOH-shay).

They were arrested on four counts each of aggravated cruelty to animals and of criminal damage to property worth $6,500.

Strain’s spokeswoman, Veronica Mosgrove, says she doesn’t know whether they have attorneys who could speak for them.
