(AP) - In a story March 8, The Associated Press reported erroneously that the proposed state budget includes a 36 percent pay rise for Florida Supreme Court justices, and that other judges also would receive raises. The budget proposes pay increases of 24 percent for Florida Supreme Court justices and none for other judges, who received raises in October.

Florida justices in line to get large raises
Most state workers won’t be getting a raise in the coming year, but Florida’s Supreme Court justices could be getting a big one.
Florida legislators on Thursday wrapped up work on a new state budget that does not include an across-the-board pay raise for most state employees. The budget covers all spending from July 2018 to June 2019.
But the new budget has a nearly 24 percent pay raise for the seven justices on the Florida Supreme Court. Justices also got an increase back in October along with all other judges.
State law enforcement officers are in line for a seven-percent or 10 percent pay raise. State firefighters would receive a $2,500 pay raise.
The Republican-controlled Legislature is scheduled to vote on the budget on Sunday and then send it to Gov. Rick Scott.
