FARMINGTON, N.M. (AP) - New Mexico authorities have identified a Colorado man who was fatally shot by a Farmington police officer at the end of a standoff at a motel.

The State Police says 25-year-old Andrew Rossi was wanted on a warrant from Ignacio, Colorado, alleging aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

The standoff began Monday evening and ended early Tuesday morning.

Farmington police have said the man now identified as Rossi was shot after he charged officers with a knife.
