NORFOLK, Va. (AP) - The executive director of a Habitat for Humanity chapter in Virginia resigned as a newspaper questioned whether he misrepresented his educational background.
The Virginian-Pilot reports Brad Kirkpatrick resigned Friday after Pilot reporters shared findings with the board of Habitat for Humanity of South Hampton Roads on Feb. 28. The paper found that Kirkpatrick, who led the organization for three years, doesn’t appear to have the college degree he claims.
Kirkpatrick’s biography on Habitat’s website said he graduated from the University of Houston with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. The page has been removed. Kirkpatrick’s LinkedIn page also listed the degree, but was removed Tuesday night.
The university says Kirkpatrick only attended the school as a psychology major during the summer of 1985.
