CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (AP) - A Harvard University professor is retiring at the end of the semester following a series of sexual misconduct allegations.

The Boston Globe reported Tuesday that the announcement came days after Professor Jorge Dominguez was placed on administrative leave pending a review.

The university said the 72-year-old’s retirement won’t change the ongoing probe.

Former students and colleagues accused Dominguez of sexual harassment and assault in an article published last week in the Chronicle of Higher Education. The women claim he touched them inappropriately, and one former colleague says he tried to kiss her multiple times.

In a statement announcing his retirement, Dominguez said he’s not teaching this semester and has stepped down immediately from his administrative roles. He did not address the misconduct allegations and declined to comment through his lawyer.
