The Jacksonville Jaguars will not use its franchise tag on wide receiver Allen Robinson, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
The #Jaguars have informed WR Allen Robinson that they won’t be applying the franchise or transition tag, I’m told. The team has until March 12 to work out a deal before he’s a free agent.

Robinson is set to become a free agent with his rookie contract expiring.
A 2014 second-round pick out of Penn State, Robinson made an impact in his second season, catching 80 passes for 1,400 yards (sixth-most in the NFL) and 14 touchdowns (tied for league-most) in 2015.
After a small step back in 2016, he tore his ACL in the first game of the 2017 campaign. But despite not having Robinson in the lineup, Jacksonville had its best season in recent memory, winning the AFC South and advancing to the conference championship game.
The Jaguars recently gave quarterback Blake Bortles a three-year contract extension. The website Spotrac estimates Jacksonville has just $29.5 million in salary cap space at the moment, so it might not win a bidding war for the 24-year-old receiver.
