I am giddy over the prospect of Michelle Obama becoming the Democratic Party’s nominee for president in 2020. In all my 80 years of life, never before has there been a more qualified individual for that role — if the aim is to compound the damage done by President Barack Obama.

As the party’s nominee, I’m sure Mrs. Obama could once again be “proud of” her country (because, according to her, she wasn’t proud of it until her husband became president). And as far as qualifications are concerned, she learned much as first lady. She learned, for example, that the American people should “get off their high horse,” bow to Islamic potentates, apologize for their country’s past transgressions and promise never to do them again. She also learned that Islam was a major contributor to the laws and culture of the United States, and without them we would likely have never advanced scientifically, morally or culturally.

Thanks to Mrs. Obama’s husband, we know that if you have a successful business, “you didn’t build that” — someone else did. And also remember, it’s better to “lead from behind” (though what he did seemed more like leading from his behind). Also under the tutelage of her husband, Mrs. Obama also learned the importance of thwarting development of American energy independence, raising taxes and increasing regulation so as to shut down and drive American businesses to other countries. She learned putting people out of work and making them dependent on welfare is good for her party. And don’t forget that arming the Mexican drug cartels, supplying Russia with uranium and keeping U.S. borders wide open are good things.
