SURPRISE, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities are investigating a police-involved shooting in Surprise that has left an armed man dead.
Police say the shooting occurred about noon Wednesday inside a business near El Mirage and Bell roads.
They say a man in his 50s was armed with a knife and was shot by a police officer and declared dead at the scene.
Police were first called to the business for a welfare check around 11:40 a.m.
The name of the dead man wasn’t immediately released.
They say no officers were injured during the incident.
